Kevin Charles Murphy passed away in his home in Whitman, Massachusetts on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the age of 52 after a long and brave battle with cancer. He was born on March 20, 1965 in Framingham, Massachusetts, to Kevin J. Murphy and Helen L. Dick. He graduated from Brockton High School in 1983.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Cristin, of 26 years. He was a loving father to his son Jonathan and daughters, Shannon, Brailey and Bianca. Not to forget the many foster children he helped to raise. He was also survived by his mother Helen and sister, Dawn Mullaney; Son-in-law to Paul and Dale Buckley; Brother-in-law to Wendi and Matt Thornton and Sean and Mollie Buckley and his nephew and nieces; as well as his Aunt, Uncles and cousins.
Kevin worked many years for American Steel as a professional truck driver until they closed down and then moved on to Pespi in Canton. He loved driving his 18 wheelers and beloved Mustang, but what he enjoyed most was working with the youth group as the youth director at Brookville Bible Church in Holbrook. Aside from taking care of his family, he loved being a father to the fatherless or even a second father to those that needed him. His heart was a never-ending spring for all the kids that depended on him. He never tired of helping them, as well having never ending energy to help our friends and loved ones.
He lived his life by our family verse:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3: 5&6
Kevin was a strong man of God, a wonderful and loving husband and father and loved by so many. He will be truly missed and forever in our hearts.
Kevin’s life will be celebrated at Calvary Chapel at 175 Market St. in Rockland on Saturday, March 3rd at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Brookville Bible Church (with the Youth Group on the memo line) and sent to 871 South Franklin St. Holbrook, Ma. 02343. Thank you.
