 Robert John Flint, born June 25, 1933, in New York to the late Henry and Helen Flint, died June 18 after a brief struggle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Gail (Pate) Flint and children: Kathy and James Gagnon of Ware, Robert Jr. and Teresa Flint of Hampton, Conn., James Flint of Florida, Brenda Herbrig of Webster, George Brian and Irene Houle of Grafton, Barbara and Gary Schauwecker of Brookfield, Barry Houle of Northborough, Jennifer and Bruce Biron of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and John Ernest Flint of Newton and his sister Florence Braga of Dennisport, Mass. He leaves 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers.

Robert attended Grafton High School then entered the U.S. Army in 1953 where he served for seven years including service in Korea and Germany. He later served in the Army National Guard 101st Field Artillery as a staff sergeant. Robert served as VFW Post Vice-Commander in West Yarmouth. He was also a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary for many years on Cape Cod. He turned his army training as a mechanic into his career, owning an AAMCO franchise and CARE Transmissions in Auburn.

Robert enjoyed spending time with his family, boating, hunting, camping, and fishing, especially fishing the outer shoals of Cape Cod. He was an active member of Christian Hope Fellowship in Charlton, worked at St. James Church in South Grafton and enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center.

Services will be held in August.
