Elizabeth "Betty" Kiesel of Chatham passed away peacefully on July 14, 2010, at Liberty Commons Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Chatham. She was 80 years old.
She was born in Bristol, Conn., on Feb. 2, 1930, to the late Emil and Elizabeth Kiesel. After graduating from Bristol schools, she worked for Superior Electric and New England Clock. In 1966, she and a good friend started a partnership, "Blumen Laden," retailing in Bristol for a few years, then taking her business to Orleans and Chatham.
Upon retiring in 2006, she enjoyed donating her time to many charities and the
American Cancer Society Road to Recovery.
Betty is predeceased by a brother, George Kiesel. She leaves behind a sister-in-law, Ruth Kiesel of Belmont, N.H.; several cousins, nieces, nephews and many cherished friends.
Friends and family may attend a graveside service to be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, at the West Cemetery in Bristol, Conn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
