David Lydon

David Michael Lydon of Dorchester.

It is with the deepest sorrow we share that Dave succumbed to his 7-year battle with cancer and passed away, gently, on September 28, 2017.
He leaves behind his broken-hearted, beloved son, David A., his former wife of 22 years and great friend, Anne Lydon Nichols (Austin), along with his extended family and friends.
Dave was born in Dorchester in September, 1957 but lived much of his life in South Boston. He was the only adored child of Barbara Lydon (McSweeney) , who predeceased him at an early age.
A US Navy DAV, he served his country honorably aboard the USS Trippe during the Vietnam Era. Dave was previously employed by the USPS and the MBTA until the relentless cancer left him fully disabled in 2016.
We send our heartfelt thanks to the nurses, doctors, staff, as well as the patients who became his friends at the Brockton VA for their compassion, camaraderie and the dignified, restful care he so desperately needed during his final months.
As was his wish, Dave will be interred in a private ceremony at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
We will see him on the other side – may Dave rest in sweet peace.
