Diane S Weir

Diane S. Weir (Steadman) of Brockton passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023, at the age of 73. Diane was raised and educated in Dorchester. In her younger years she worked many different jobs before finally landing at Bradlees for 27 years. While she did work outside the home, her real career was in the house raising her family.

Diane was an amazing woman with so much patience, kindness and love. She was a fun- loving woman who adored caring for children. Alongside side her own child she was constantly babysitting other children as well. She also enjoyed working, cooking and her cats and dogs. Above all else she cherished the time she spent with all her family and friends.

Diane was the daughter of the late Malcolm and Margaret E. Steadman (Rush). She was the beloved wife of 53 years to Allan C. Weir. Diane was the loving mother of Dawn Flanagan of Brockton and her late husband George.  She adored her grandchildren Mia and Mari. Diane was predeceased by all of her siblings, Jean, Dorothy, Malcolm, Mary, Paul, Margaret (Midge), Carol, Leah, and Sandra. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Diane on Monday November 27, 2023, from 9-10AM. A Funeral Service will immediately follow the visitation in the MacKinnon Funeral Home at 10AM. A burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations made be made to the American Alzheimer's Association.
