Esther Patricia Howley

Esther (Eileen) P. Howley of Bridgewater passed away peacefully on November 27, 2023 at the age of 85. Eileen was raised and educated in Galway, Ireland before moving to London at the age of 17 where she worked for several years. She was especially talented at interior home decorating. She married her husband Patrick a Unites States Army soldier and the two moved to the United States. They raised their three boys in Quincy and Weymouth. She worked as a caretaker and household manager until her retirement in 2012.

Eileen was a woman full of talent and love. She enjoyed tending her garden, decorating and redoing her own home doing most of the work herself. She loved to cook for her friends and family. Everyone was fond of her Irish bread and her potato salad . When she wasn't working on the house she would be watching the news or singing her way around her home. Above all else, Eileen was a family woman. Grammy would make sure to always set the time aside to spend with her family especially her grandchildren.

Eileen was predeceased by her beloved husband Patrick J. Howley. She was the devoted mother of the late Michael Howley, who is survived by his wife Vicki, Joe Howley, his wife Nicole of East Bridgewater, Matthew Howley and his wife Diane of Abington. She was the cherished grandmother of Erin, Patrick, Tommy, Mary, Keira and Brenna. Eileen was the loving sister of Cyril Kelly, Theresa Sumida and Elizabeth Denne. She has many beloved nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Eileen on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 5-8PM in the MacKinnon Funeral Home (760 Washington St. Whitman). A celebration of life will take place in the funeral home on Friday December 1, 2023 at 9AM before a Funeral Mass at the Holy Ghost Church at 10AM.
