Frank DiMaria, of Sandwich, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, at McCarthy Care Center hospice, following a brief battle with lung cancer.
Born in Rochester, New York, Frank brought warmth, laughter, and kindness to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
At 18, Frank left Rochester and relocated to Sandwich to join his parents in a business venture. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and later found his calling in the hospitality industry, where he worked until retirement. His many years at the Dan’l Webster Inn were defined by his natural charm and genuine ability to connect with people—qualities that made him a beloved presence among both colleagues and guests.
Frank embraced life with enthusiasm and heart. He found joy in gardening, cooking, music, and staying active. Known for his quick wit and infectious humor, he was the “fun uncle,” a loyal friend, and someone who could light up any room with a story or a smile.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer DiMaria; his sister, Rose Marie Gianferante (Robert) of Sandwich, MA; his brother, Joe DiMaria (Kathy) of Rochester, NY; and his niece, Camilla Thomas (Rodney) of Sandwich, MA. Frank also leaves behind a wide circle of friends and extended family who will deeply miss him.
A private memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Frank’s memory to a veterans’ organization or a cancer organization of your choice.
