Georgia Baker (Buzzee), of Bridgewater, formerly of Livermore Falls, Maine, passed away at home after a valiant fight with cancer, on March 6, 2022, at the age of 75, with her daughter Colleen by her side. Georgia was raised in Bridgewater, MA, the daughter of Gwendolyn and George “Bud” Yeaton and remained in town to raise her five children.
Georgia loved nature, spending time in Maine and walking around Bridgewater’s Iron Works, enjoying the waterfall. Truly fulfilled by the simple things in life, her greatest joys came from spending time with her family. One of her best traits was that she always took the time to support and encourage others, both in following their dreams and when they were struggling through difficult times.
Georgia was a talented artist who loved to create. Painting, particularly pictures of the ocean and lighthouses, was a favorite pastime, as was knitting hats, scarves and blankets, including her great-granddaughter Emery’s “Georgia blanket,” for all those she loved. Many of her favorite memories involved traveling to events all over the country, supporting her son Jason’s love of Motocross. Recently, her favorite activity had been spending time with her two beautiful great-grandchildren. Emery would often ask to go to “my Georgia’s” house, where they would have tea parties at the table Georgia kept ready for such occasions.
She was the devoted mother of Alexander Buzzee (predeceased), David and Betti Buzzee, Colleen Buzzee and Sean Leonard, Nadine Buzzee, Jason Buzzee and son-in-law David O’Grady. Cherished grandmother (affectionately called Mar and Grandma Georgia) to Alex Buzzee, Jr., Rachel and Jeff Smith, Juila Cosgrove, Jacob Schlehuber, Nick O’Grady, Chris O’Grady and Amanda Quindley, John O’Grady, Joshua Buzzee, Ben Buzzee and Lindsay Buzzee. Greatly loved great-grandmother to Emery and Olivia Quindley. Predeceased by her long-time companion, David Hayden. Also survived by her sister, Kathleen Mortarelli and her husband Andrew, their children Andrew Mortarelli and Jennifer MacEachern, five great-nieces and nephews and several cousins.
