Gregory J Fleming

Gregory James Fleming, of Whitman, passed away at home on August 17, 2025, at the age of 64. Born in Boston on May 30, 1961, he was raised in Braintree until his family moved to Whitman. He was a graduate of Whitman-Hanson High School, Class of 1979.

Gregory worked at Verizon for more than 30 years until his retirement. He had many passions in life, including golfing in Florida, woodworking and creating gifts for family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, enjoyed visits to the shooting range, and was a devoted Red Sox fan. He also enjoyed relaxing with friends and family — sometimes with one... or five Tito's.

Gregory is survived by his devoted wife, Bonnie Fleming, whom he just celebrated 40 years of marriage with; his children Kristen L. Morse and her husband Wayne S. of Lakeville, MA, and Gregory J. Fleming Jr. and his wife Marisa of Summerville, SC. He was the proud grandfather of Gregory III, Isla, Jack, Joseph “JJ,” Nathalie, Emmett, and a baby girl expected soon. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Elaine Fleming of Middleboro, MA; siblings Charlene Sears of Exeter, NH, Patrick Fleming and his wife Janet of Middleboro, MA, Regina Pecce and her husband Dominic of Weymouth, MA, and William Fleming Jr. of Whitman, MA; and his best friend of 50 years, Paul MacNeil of Whitman. Gregory was predeceased by his brother John Fleming and his parents William and Regina Fleming of Whitman, MA. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

Friends and family are invited for visiting hours at the MacKinnon Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 26th, from 4–7 PM. Family and friends are also invited to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 27th, at 930 AM for a procession to Holy Ghost Church in Whitman for a 1030 AM Memorial Mass. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery in Whitman.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gregory’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
