Howard Mark Gifford

Howard Mark Gifford of Bridgewater passed away on November 20, 2023, at the age of 73. Mark was born in Boston and was raised and educated in Weymouth. He graduated from Weymouth High School and later attended Franklin Institute.  He earned certifications in masonry, hazardous waste and drilling. He worked in the Quincy Shipyards, in construction, as a mason apprentice, a hazardous waste and groundwater technician, and as a driller for many years on the Otis Air Force Base, where he worked until he retired.

Mark enjoyed sports and watching football and baseball games.  For many years he was part of a golf league with his long-time friends from Weymouth. He loved listening to music and adored his animals, especially his cat and dog. He was a man with a big heart and loved spending time with his family more than anything else. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mark was the devoted father of Liam Gifford and his wife Rachel of Warren, RI. He cherished his granddaughter Clara and leaves behind his siblings Joe, Barbara, Rick and Bill, and was predeceased by his brother Peter.
