James Thetonia, Jr.

January 18, 1961 — March 26, 2009

James R. Thetonia, Jr. “Hippa, Hip”of Rockland passed away on Thursday March 26, 2009 at the South Shore Hospital, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was 48 years old. Jim was born in Brockton, raised and schooled in Rockland, MA.

He is survived by his son James R. Thetonia III of Raynham. His parents James Sr. and Julie (Kramarski) Thetonia of Rockland. His brother Jeffrey and sister Cindy Thetonia both of Whitman. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces. Jim had also lived in Whitman, Middleboro, Norton and Easton. He worked at Gorman Machine Co. of Brockton for over 20 years.

He enjoyed his family and friends. Jim could say anything and get everybody laughing. He loved being with his son and the feeling was mutual, no matter what they did. Jim loved fishing, biking, and motorcycles. He would pack a cooler and head to the beach to “catch some rays” at Duxbury Beach. He would also pack up and go to van jams a few times a year in Connecticut. He would meet people from all over and loved the comradery.

Services were held in the MacKinnon Funeral Home 760 Washington St., Whitman Saturday March 28. A private ceremony was held with family members only.
