IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joan A.
Berube
February 6, 1952 – March 26, 2026
Graveside Service
Mount Benedict Cemetery
Starts at 10:00 am (Eastern time)
Joan Ann (Niland) Berube passed away on March 26, 2026. She was born on February 6, 1952, to Patrick and Helen (O’Connor) Niland. Joan was the youngest of twelve children from a large and well loved family.
Joan graduated from St. Patrick’s Catholic High School and attended Boston Business School of Education. In 1978, she married Bob Berube, and because of Joan they built a successful business and went onto have their only child; Kerrin (Berube) Miniutti.
Eighteen years ago she received her favorite title yet; Mimi to Isabella and Benjamin Miniutti who helped create many wonderful traditions, memories and thru them her memory will continue to live on.
Joan’s strong work ethic, ability to sell and amazing relationship building allowed her to have long lasting; rewarding careers. She retired from Verizon after twenty five years of service, Co-founded Diama-Gold Jewelry and recently retired from Align Credit Union after 20 years of superior service.
Joan was a doer. She didn’t ask if others needed help, guidance, assistance, a listening ear, a boost of confidence- she just did it. So often she would purchase candy, food, household items and gifts for others for a variety of reasons: she saw something and thought of the person; she saw them in need or she knew they needed a pick me up. She will be remembered for her kindness, her protectiveness of others and for being a doer.
She is survived by her daughter, Kerrin Minutti, and son-in-law, Joe Minutti; her beloved grandchildren, Isabella and Benjamin; and her siblings, Francis Niland, Bill Niland, Mary Donovan, Estelle Freeburger, George Niland, and Richard Niland, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.
She will be forever remembered for her style, grace, kindness, guidance, protectiveness, friendship and her unwavering love that made you feel safe, warm and fully seen.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial graveside service on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Mount Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury, where she will be laid to rest (Section 10, Grave 936).
