John Concannon
March 31, 1933 — August 22, 2016
John J, Concannon, 83 of Whitman formerly of Braintree passed away August 22, 2016. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Mary S. (Munnelly) Concannon. Loving father of Gail Popp and her husband Jack of Wilbraham, MA, Linda Gilbert and her husband Tom of Weymouth, Carol Leone and her husband Bob of Whitman, Diane Forrand and her husband Eric of Holbrook, and Stephen Concannon of FL. Brother of Patricia Norton of FL, Eileen Nickerson of Attleboro, and the late Winifred Shortsleeve, and James and Patrick Concannon. Also survived by 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. John was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the D.A.V of Braintree, and a member of the Tin Can Sailors of Somerset. John was a retiree of the N.E. Telephone Co.
Visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St., Whitman on Friday Aug. 26 th 9-10:30 am.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 am in Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Relatives and friends invited to attend.
Burial at a later date at the Mass. National Cemetery in Bourne.
