John Ferrie

John Ferrie, 54, cherished brother, Dad, and best friend, passed away at his home unexpectedly on Sunday August 16, 2020. He was born in Somerville and lived in Weymouth. He was the son of the late Patricia Murray and Edmund Ferrie, brother to the late Cheryl Mann. He is survived by his brother to Robert Ferrie of Weymouth MA; his son Zachary Hanrahan of Weymouth, MA; his aunt and uncle Patricia Murray and Dr. Robert Murray of Kingston, MA; his numerous cousins throughout New England; his nephew Christopher Mann, his nieces Elizabeth Sullivan, and Kelly Cousens then his brother in-law John Mann of Vernon Connecticut.

He was the caregiver for his best friend Janet Hanrahan for over 30 years. He was there with her the day her son, Zachary Hanrahan, was born and he raised him as if he was his own. With his crazy jokes he was known to make anyone and everyone laugh until there stomach hurt. He loved to travel, spend time with his family, and friends. He donated everything he had to many different organizations.

The family welcomes donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as an expression of sympathy instead of flowers.

A pay of respects will he held at Whitman Town Park on Wednesday September 2nd from 12:00PM-2:00PM.
