John Ford

March 26, 1946 — December 9, 2022

East Bridgewater

John Munroe Ford, 76, of East Bridgewater, MA found peace on December 9, 2022 after his long battle with Colon Cancer.  Born to Ruth and Charles Ford on March 26, 1946 in Astoria, Oregon.  He is survived by his two daughters.  Tammy McHugh and husband Mark McGranahan.  Malissa Chelmo and husband David.  His grandchildren Samantha, Dylan, Julia and Kathryn McHugh, Memphis McGranahan and Elizabeth, Daniel, Payton and Maddison Chelmo.  His siblings, James Ford and wife Jane, David Ford and Susan Forsyth and husband Bill.  His many nieces and nephews including Wendy and Amy Ford.

John was an Army Veteran that served in Vietnam.  He loved and honored his country.  He was the backbone of the gymkhana club Massachusetts Rough Riders Inc.  He volunteered countless hours to the club from the footing of the ground to the books.  He was at home behind the microphone in the announcers booth and rooted on the youngest to the oldest riders.  His voice reached far and wide and will always be remembered.

He was a lifelong resident of East Bridgewater.  He was a postal worker in town for many years.  He could always be found working the tractor at the Ford Family Farm.  He loved gardening, bird watching, yard sales, riding horses, real estate and accomplishing at least one thing a day every day.
