John Francis Jankowski Jr.

John Francis Jankowski Jr. (Johnny J) of Pembroke, MA, passed away peacefully at home on July 29, 2025, after a brief battle with brain cancer. He was 76 years old.

John was born on January 23, 1949, and grew up in Rockland, MA. He graduated from Rockland High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1969, proudly serving a year in Vietnam.

A hardworking man with a generous spirit, John spent many years installing fence for United Fence of Pembroke. After retiring, he continued to stay active working at both the Halifax Country Club and the Duxbury Country Club.

John was always willing to lend a hand and was known for his ability to fix or build just about anything. When asked how he knew how to do it all, he’d simply say he was “born with that information.” He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, always putting family first.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Maureen Hennessy; his daughter, Jaime Porter and her husband Kevin of Plymouth, MA; his son, John Patrick Jankowski and his wife Noelle of Kingston, MA; and his sisters, Joan Fitzpatrick and her husband Paul of Rome, NY and Ann Reed and her husband Jace of Macomb, MI. He was a proud grandfather to Calvin Horrigan, Drew Porter, Reese Porter, Wesley Jankowski, and Shea Jankowski, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice Jankowski.

A private service will be held at a later date.
