Judith E. Cook

Judith E. Cook, age 78, of East Bridgewater (formerly Brockton), passed away peacefully on May 12th, 2025, surrounded by family. Judy was born and raised in Brockton, daughter of the late Doris Churchill (Jones) and Robert S. Churchill Sr.

A graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1964 alongside her high school sweetheart "Bill", her loving husband of 58 years, William Cook Sr. whom she leaves behind. At an early age Judy enjoyed singing at church and was a member of the Harmonics and A Cappella Choir at BHS. Over the years she supported many charitable causes and local campaigns across the city. Both Judy and Bill were part of the original crew of volunteers that began the Kids Road Races at D.W. Field Park that became a staple of the city, spanning five decades. An avid baseball fan, Judy loved her Red Sox and was known to be the loudest Mom at the ballfield, cheering on her boys. She was an excellent cook (no pun intended), enjoyed planting flowers, playing Bingo and competitive Cribbage.

Judy was the last to remain from a family of nine siblings, the late Earl Churchill, Arthur Churchill, Winston Churchill, Robert Churchill, William Churchill, Carolyn Churchill, Donna Lewis and Norma Mather.She is survived by her devoted husband Bill; her children, William Cook Jr. and wife Debbie Sansone of Maryland, Carolyn Cook of Attleboro, Stephen Cook and wife Jurate Cook of East Bridgewater. Her grandchildren, Bridgette Smith and husband Josh Smith of Maryland, Emily Lebel and husband Ryan Lebel of New Hampshire, Max Cook of Boston, Gabriel Cook and Lukas Cook of East Bridgewater. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her, she will be sorely missed. After having attended many wakes and services over the years, Judy's simple wish was for folks and family to gather in celebration of life rather than in sadness of death.A Celebration of Judy's life will be announced at a later date.
