Lauren Romano

Lauren Slessinger Romano, 59, of Franklin, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, in hospice care after a courageous battle with colon cancer. 

Born in Boston , Massachusetts on February 23, 1966. Lauren was the beloved daughter of the late Mark and Janice Slessinger. She started as a hairdresser and then became a fitness trainer. She had a deep love for dogs, art, fashion, music, and travel. A lifelong fan of Prince, Lauren found inspiration and joy in his music—and her favorite songs often filled the room . 

Lauren is survived by her loving partner, Ivan Hernandez and her sisters, Lisa Slessinger Charnley, Carla Victor Rawson and Erica Slessinger Kreiter. She was a caring aunt to her nieces and nephews as well as their children. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Lauren’s strength, and tenacity will never be forgotten. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends—and in every Prince song that plays.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lauren’s honor to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance or another colon cancer organization of your choice.
