Leo F. Hurley, 94 of Whitman, passed away Sunday July 19, 2026. He is survived by his four sons: James Hurley of York, Maine, Thomas Hurley of Falmouth, Steven Hurley of Boston, and Paul Hurley of Plymouth. Husband of the late Rosemarie Hurley who passed in 2019 and brother of the late Loretta Hurley and Mary Hurley of Whitman who passed in 2020. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Leo was a communicant of Holy Ghost Parish in Whitman and was actively involved and played leadership roles in The Holy Ghost Parish Council, community organizations (Cub Scouts, Habitat for Humanity, St. Vincent DePaul, Food Pantry and American Legion) and town government. Leo was former chair of the Whitman Finance Committee, School Committee and Select Board and the Whitman-Hanson Regional School Committee.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, July 27, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the MacKinnon Funeral Home located at 760 Washington St. Whitman, MA. Family and friends are also invited to gather at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, for a Celebration of Life at the prior to a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Parish, 518 Washington Street, Whitman, Massachusetts 02382. Burial to follow at St. James Cemetery, Whitman.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Whitman Food Pantry (mail checks to Whitman Food Pantry 518 Washington St Whitman MA 02382) or the St. Vincent DePaul Society (https://svdpusa.org/).
