Marie Ciccotelli

Marie T. Ciccotelli (Hannon), 90, of Wareham, MA and formerly of Canton, MA passes away January 24, 2022 after a short illness.

She was the beloved wife of Ernest S. of many years.

Maria was an amazing woman who lived a full life and was a force to be reckoned with. She was a scientist and an educator, a talented musician who loved playing piano and an accomplished vocalist who sang with the Stoughton Musical Society – America’s oldest performing musical organization.

Shoe loved to travel and after retiring from teaching students to be lab technicians, she and Ernest went on several working vacations to Mexico, Sri Lanka and the Honduras where she volunteered to teach English as a Second Language.

Her accomplishments were many.

She leaves behind her four children. Her sons, Ernest J. and his long-time partner Paula Bergeron (VT), John L. (deceased) and his wife Zaleha (Westport), Paul G. and his wife Patricia (Wareham) and her daughter Maria (Tish) of Rochester as well as her dear friend Christopher Engel.

She had four grandsons, Nathaniel, Ethan, Dillon and Harvest (deceased) and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held in the spring in Canton where she will join her best friend and husband, Ernest.

In lieu of flowers, donations could be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association.
