Nancy Elizabeth Holt

Nancy Elizabeth Holt was born on December 25, 1947 in Weymouth, Massachusetts and died on September 3, 2026 while hospitalized in South Weymouth. At the time, she was a resident of Rockland but lived most of her life in East Weymouth. She fought many health issues for years but maintained a sympathetic and encouraging attitude for many friends. She was a friend you could trust and count on for prayer support. She earned an Associate degree from Eastern Nazarene College. She volunteered for service in her church, First Baptist of Weymouth in the years she was able to serve.

She loved, provided and cared for her mother from the time of her father’s death in 1986 until Mom joined him in heaven in 2006. She worked for ServiceMaster Hospital Division as a hospital supervisor. She followed that with work as a computer technician for Talbots and retired from that to spend more time with her mother. When Mom died shortly after her retirement, she worked as an executive assistant at Good News Jail and Prison International Division, developing helpful relationships with missions people in countries all over the world.

Along side her work and following her final retirement, she quilted to provide thank you gifts for friends, baby quilts for church families and gifts for family members. She worked at developing her skills and stitched with prayers for the receivers.

She was preceded in death by her father, Forest D. Holt and her mother, Doris M. Holt and by her brothers Richard (Dick) D. Holt and Robert V. Holt.

Nancy is survived by her sister, Linda M. Westby and her husband, George R. Westby, Sr. Of Owego, New York and their four children, George R. Westby, Jr. and wife Lauren Freel Westby, with two grand nieces, Isabel M. Westby and Lucy C. Westby of Syracuse, NY; Geoffrey F. Westby and wife Casey Simmons Westby with two grand nephews, Harrison R. Westby and Sullivan G. Westby of Elbridge, NY; Joy L. Westby and Robert Schuerch of Vestal, NY ; and Gregory K. Westby of Brooklyn, NY.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Nancy on October 17 2026 at the First Baptist Church of Weymouth, 40 West Street, Weymouth at 11:00 a.m.
