Patricia Chilson, 82, of Bourne, passed through the gates of heaven peacefully on January 20, 2021 with her loving family by her side.
Born April 21, 1938 in Endicott, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Alice (Sullivan) Chilson. Patricia grew up in Braintree and Bridgewater, MA and was a 1956 graduate of Bridgewater-Raynham High School. With a passion for singing, she was accepted to the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston.
Patricia is survived by her children Donald (Rebeca) Pittsley and Merri-Martha Pittsley; grandchildren Ryan (Sonya Teixeira) Pittsley, Brendan (Cindy) Pittsley, Michala Callahan, John Collins and Ana Maria Collins; sisters Alice Cunniff and Mary (Frank) Barstow; lifelong friends Betty Tarentino and Maureen Callahan. Patricia was predeceased by her sister Noreen, brother George “Sonny” Chilson and brother-in-law Jayce Cunniff.
Patricia worked as the Assistant Director at United Cerebral Palsy in Brockton, MA, for many years, while pursuing her Masters of Education from Antioch College. She went on to become the Director of Displaced Homemakers of New Bedford and Hyannis.
A devout Catholic, Patricia was a communicant at La Salette Shrine in Attleboro, MA. She was always gracious, always kind, and always giving. Patricia’s happiest moments were times spent with her family and friends. There are few true kind souls in this world, and Patricia was one of them.
A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Honors in Memphis, TN.
