Patricia Mary Patterson, 95, of Centerville, passed away on April 16 at the home of her daughter. Pat was born in Somerville, MA to the late Richard M. and Mary F. (Harrington) Connor.
Pat graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy in Brighton, and after living several years in Winthrop, MA, moved with her son and daughter to Cape Cod in 1968.
Pat was employed as a bookkeeper at the Howard Johnson Motor Lodge in Hyannis, and later worked for the USPS as a clerk in both Hyannisport and Centerville, and as the first female carrier in Centerville.
During the energy crisis of the 1970s, Pat was often seen buzzing along the local roads on her Moped. For many years, she enjoyed playing volleyball and having monthly get-togethers with a large circle of friends. She was an avid reader and also liked word games and puzzles, especially Scrabble, Bananagrams and Dominoes. She loved dinners at Corporation Beach, Cape Symphony Pops concerts, drives in the VW Beetle with the top down, Campfire Smores ice cream, and sitting out on the patio having a hot dog, chips and a beer, tapping her feet to the music of Keb'Mo. She was always up for an adventure, especially if it included her granddog. Well-timed quips were a hallmark of her sharp sense of humor.
Pat is survived by her son, Richard and his wife, Molly of Hudson NH, and her daughter, Jean Larivee and her husband, Lionel of Centerville; her grandchildren, Caroline Lauver (Mark) of Falls Church, VA, Morgan Patterson of Hudson, NH, and Chad (Alexis), Kyle, and Trisha Nojaim, all of Syracuse, NY; her great-grandchildren Hazel and Clara Lauver, Arianna Patterson, and Laila and RJ Nojaim. She was predeceased by her brothers Richard and Eugene.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 11AM at Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 S. Main St. in Centerville.
Visitation with the family will take place prior to the Mass, beginning at 10AM.
