Philip Toomey

     Philip Toomey, 76, passed away at South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth after a long struggle with a blood related cancer and other complications.  He was born on July 25, 1946 in Springfield, Mass.  Philip was predeceased by his parents, Joseph M. Toomey Sr. and Mary Dolan Toomey, and siblings Joseph M. Toomey Jr., Rosemary Mondou Toomey and Richard Toomey.  He leaves behind brothers William L. Toomey and partner Susan Bruce of Longmeadow, Mass., Kevin J. Toomey and wife Nancy of Windham, Conn., and three generations of nieces and nephews.

     Philip lived in the Springfield area before relocating to Boston following his graduation from the University of Massachusetts.  He spent his professional career working in the financial industry as a computer programmer/systems analyst in the field of computer security.  Philip enjoyed traveling to the Netherlands and other countries in Europe.  He was an avid photographer, video editor and film maker, and had a lifetime interest in all things technical.

     Services will be private at the convenience of the family.  They extend heartfelt thanks to the medical and hospice staff at South Shore Hospital for their compassion and care of Philip during his illness.
