Prince Blue

Prince Earl Blue known to most as “Blue” took his last breath resting peacefully and comfortably at the VA Hospital Spinal Cord Injury Unit of Brockton, Massachusetts on December 22, 2022, at 5:15p. Blue was born April 17, 1947, in Fayetteville, N.C. to his late mother Mamie Campbell of Dillion, S.C. and his father Ollie Blue of Roberson County, N.C. Blue grew up in Hope Mills, N.C., enlisted in the USMC at 17 and carried an unwavering strength before and after Vietnam, and was honorably discharged.

Once paralyzed from shrapnel, the Blue we knew of changed. Eventually moving into the VA Hospital SCIU of Brockton, they embraced him and provided him white glove service over the next 13 years of his life; to which the family is forever appreciative and grateful. His children, Cassandra Blue-Soleau and Yuri Quinnie assured Blue lived a fulfilling life as he wanted.

Blue is predeceased by his siblings Milton, Hilton, Ollie Jr., and Rodger Blue, and Gladys Williams. Survived by his brother James Blue and his sister Ida McKoy.

Mourning his absence, his daughter Cassandra Blue-Soleau and his son Yuri Quinnie of Boston, Massachusetts. His grandchildren, Kevin Black Jr., Candis Blue, Trey Soleau, Ashley Quinnie, Ayana Quinnie, Yuri Quinnie II, Jordan Marcano, Javon Marcano, and Londyn Quinnie. Great Grandchildren, Janiya Johnson, Shiloh Blue, Aiden Lightborne, and Khari Marcano. Leaving behind a host of nieces and nephews, a multitude of close friends and staff from the Brockton VA Hospital SCIU, and a host of other friends he met along his journey.

Blue is in our DNA; we salute him for serving in the United States Marine Corp and we appreciate him for touching our lives like no other.

Interment with Military Honors will be held on Friday January 6th 11:30 am at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
