Sten Nelson
December 30, 1929 — September 21, 2016
Sten R. Nelson of Whitman died Wednesday September 21, 2016. He was 86. Mr. Nelson was a graduate of Weymouth High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a former employee of South Shore Heating in Weymouth and later he worked for Russelectric in Hingham.
He is survived by his wife Clara (Burton) Nelson. His two sons Sten Jr. of Bridgewater and John Nelson of Whitman. Also survived by his brothers Harold, Earl, Gordon, Norman and his sister Ann. Grandfather of John Jr., Timothy, Mary Kate and Kirsten. Great grandfather of Eddie MacKinnon. Mr. Nelson was ill for several years, but he was still able to enjoy watching his beloved Red Sox on TV.
Visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St., Whitman on Sunday Sept. 25 th 12-2 pm.
A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 2 pm. Relatives and friends invited to attend.
Interment will be private.
