Warren Bowen

October 14, 1937 — July 25, 2014

Warren E. Bowen,  76, of Kingston, MA,  35 year resident  of Duxbury, passed away peacefully at home on July 25, 2014 with his family.  The son of the late Charles W. and Edna (Lally) Bowen, Mr. Bowen was born on October 14, 1937 in Boston, MA. Warren was a graduate of Boston Latin School (1956) and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (1960), where he earned a degree in Business Administration. From 1977 until his retirement in 2001, Warren was employed by Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc., where he helped launch the International Department.  His career was focused on developing overseas markets and  his territories included Europe, the Far East, Central America, South America, and, his favorite, the Caribbean.  A true gentleman, his honesty and integrity earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him.  Warren's happiest years were the 13 years he spent in retirement travelling extensively with his wife, spending time with family and many dear friends,  enjoying his grandchildren,  playing golf,  and working on his home and yard.

In  addition to his beloved wife Terry (Packard) Bowen, Warren is survived by his three daughters,  Susan Griffin (Bart) of Duxbury, Lisa of Sunnyvale, CA, and Nicole Hardy of Scarborough, ME.   He was the loving “Papa” to Michael and Matthew Griffin and Brielle and Amelia Hardy.  Warren was the brother of Ellen Bishop (Stuart) of Payson, AZ, and the late Janet Glass (Bruce).   He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Susan Lundell (Richard) of Mansfield and Lucinda Allen (Gerald) of Windham, Maine and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of  Life Service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, 410 Washington Street, Duxbury, MA on Tuesday, August 12 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Duxbury Interfaith Council, P.O. Box 1161, Duxbury, MA 02331.
