Willis “Butch” A. Harris, 67 of Whitman passed away May 7, 2021. Butch lived to make people laugh. He was famous for his “smell this”, followed up with cake being smashed in your face. He shared his love of the Patriots with his son as well as his wife and siblings. On game day, he was dressed in his Pats jersey with a bottle of Jack Daniels ready to go. He shared his love of music from the Doors with his daughter.
Butch shared his home with his wife, whom he loved for over 30 years. He loved his grandchildren beyond words. Butch loved his family so much and even though some live a far distance away, he always tried to figure out a way to keep them all together. His smile and laughter were so contagious, and he had a way of setting your mind at ease during your own struggles. Anyone who has ever met him can attest to Butch’s laid-back, easy-going nature. He was so charismatic and fun to be around and effortlessly made friends wherever he went. Although he did not have much, he would have given anything to those in need. He had a heart of gold and was such a gentle soul. He was truly one of a kind and there will be no other like him.
He is survived by his wife Mary K. (Benson) Harris. His children Shana Harris, Joshua Harris, and Kim Bean-Hallisey. Brother of Glenn Harris, Cheri Neumeyer, Brenda Harris and Leona Casey. Also survived by his grandchildren Kerri Feldman, Alexis Harris, Brody Foster, Austin Berry, and Joshua Harris, Jr.
There will be a celebration of life at the Whitman VFW on Sunday, May 16 th from 1 to 5pm.
