Charles Darmetko

Charles J. Darmetko, 90 of Rockland, passed away January 11, 2022. For 67 years, he was the loving husband of the late Estelle Darmetko. Beloved father of Thomas Darmetko and his wife Patricia of Kingston; Gerald Darmetko and his wife Sandra of Whitman; David Darmetko and his wife Sandy of Abington; Susan Vasilakis and her husband Steve of Randolph; Joseph Darmetko and his wife Maureen of Newburgh, NY; and Judy Powers and her husband Bob of Whitman. Grandfather of 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Charlie was born in Cambridge and raised in Dorchester. He graduated from Dorchester High School and served in the Navy.

Charlie was a tradesman, a sheet metal worker, amateur magician, with an all-around “MacGyver” ability.  He was able to maintain all aspects of his home and cars with Country and Western music always playing in the background.

Friends and family will always remember his fun-loving personality full of magic tricks and laughter.  Charlie always had something up his sleeve.

This latest surge in Covid has taken away our ability to visit with friends and hear their memories with Charlie.  Therefore in lieu of a wake, the family would greatly appreciate if you could take a moment to enter a fond memory of Charlie in the “Tribute Wall” tab of this website.
