Deborah was born on October 16 in 1954. She was raised in Dorchester by two benevolent parents, Sylvia and Edward Auzenne, and was the only girl out of her four brothers, Edward, Lynde, Theodore, and Phillip. She grew up loving her family and despising her proper pronunciation of her name: Dub-or-ah. Growing up, she was surrounded by supportive aunts, uncles, and cousins. She loved getting into typical teen mischief with her Whitfield St. crew, who she absolutely cherished and adored.

Debbie came to be a courageous and diligent police officer, a job perfect for someone as selfless and kind as her. It was through this profession she met many valued friends and Jay Greene, the father of her only daughter, Kristian. She was a devoted mother through and through, and their bond (built through decades of coffee trips) was something so beautiful it was beyond words. This bond remained especially strong while she stood beside her daughter as Kris and her husband, Dione, got married. Debbie became a loving grandmother to three grandchildren who she attentively helped raise. In 1998, she welcomed her first granddaughter, Alexia, who she watched blossom into the ambitious woman she is today. Deb watched as Lexie grew up, watched as she became a fan favorite of the police station, and watched as she donned her favorite childhood persona: Sexy Bubbles. At the age of 52, Deborah greeted her second granddaughter, Ava who she helped mold into a smart and amiable young lady. 6 years later she held her third -and final- granddaughter, Alivia, who she watched grow into a confident, exuberant young girl. Debbie held Livie’s hand while she navigated the world, while giggling through bouts of laughter, and while comforting her after terrifying dreams of falling into rainbow sprinkles. Among her many other roles, Deb was a caring and considerate aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Deborah Catherine Auzenne was a charming, dependable, and sincere soul; truly, she was like no other. She brought so much light and happiness into many lives. And as she joins her father, mother, brother Teddy, Jay, and many friends, she does not take this light with her. Instead she shines brighter than ever, and leaves with us all an imprint we will not soon forget.

Please, join us, not in mourning her loss, but instead in celebrating Debbie’s presence with her family on March 12, 2023 at the Boston Police VFW Post, 500 Morton St, Dorchester MA 02131, 12PM-4PM.
