Deborah Thrasher

Deborah Ann Thomas Thrasher was born April 07,1961 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Ovenia Martha Thomas and James Leecan.   She was educated in Philadelphia in the School of all ages.  She also attended the Community College of Philadelphia and volunteered in the school district of Philadelphia as a substitute teacher and assisted teachers with children with special needs for a number of years…Edward T. Steele and General Phillip Kearny elementary schools to name a few...  In her late teens, early 20’s, she was a model for various clothing lines.  She appeared on the 80’s hit show called Dancing on air as a singer.  She was well known for singing and performing at a moment’s notice to bring a smile to the crowd.

She enjoyed competitively playing tennis, softball, basketball, playing various instruments, knitting, chess, crossword puzzles and activities that were mind stimulating.

With the energy and strength of a lion, she managed to leave her mark with everyone she came across one way or another.  Her personality was one to illuminate the space she occupied and put smiles on the most frowned faces.

Thirteen years ago she found love, moved and married in Massachusetts. Once she left Philadelphia, she traveled abroad often and enjoyed life to the fullest with the love of her life, Richard Thrasher.

She is survived by her loving husband Richard Thrasher, her older brother Brian Thomas…two children Brian and Ebony Williams.  Three grand-children, Aaron, Shakur, and Serenity Williams.  Four great-grandchildren.  Her eldest uncle Robert Thomas, and a host of family and friends who loves her dearly!

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105

A Gather of family and friends will be held on Saturday January 9th from 10 am-12 pm in the funeral home.  Covid-19 protocols will be observed as to guidelines and capacity limits.
