Edwin Gordon Atherton of Whitman passed away Monday August 20, 2012 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of the late Evelyn (Corless) Atherton. Son of the late Charles and Almeda (MacFarland) Atherton. Loving father of James Atherton and Darlene Vaughn and her husband Douglas all of Kingston. Brother of the late Wilbur, Walter, George, and Charles Atherton, the late Alice Damon, and step brother of Gillie Atherton. Also survived by 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home 760 Washington St., Whitman Wednesday 4-7 PM.
A graveside service will be held at Northville Cemetery (Oak St. Rte. 14) in East Bridgewater Thursday morning at 10 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Edwin was a W.W. ll Veteran U.S. Army and member of the Whitman V.F.W. Post 697.
