Eileen Durso

September 2, 1937 — October 29, 2021

Whitman

Eileen Rose (Fallon) Durso passed away peacefully on October 29 , 2021. The oldest daughter of William and Rose Fallon, she is predeceased by her sisters Sheila and Mary, and brothers Daniel and Patrick. She leaves behind her beloved husband Robert B., her children Margaret and Robert W., grandchildren Johnathan and Mitchell, and many nieces and nephews.

Eileen was born and raised in Fairfield, CT, where she loved spending time on the water. She graduated from Lauralton Hall, Milford, and Albertus Magnus College, New Haven, where she majored in English. After graduation, she taught high school English before moving to Cambridge, MA to work what was supposed to be a short assignment at Eastern Company. It was there she met her husband and together they enjoyed nearly 56 years of marriage together, eventually moving to Whitman to raise their children.

Eileen loved to read, especially mystery novels, and she belonged to every book club offered by the library. She also loved to bake and cook, and she enjoyed trying various forms of needlecraft. Her faith was important to her, and she was a devoted parishioner of the Holy Ghost Church in Whitman as well as a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality.

For all her interests and hobbies, Eileen’s greatest joy was her family. She stayed home to raise their children, and once they were grown, she and Robert enjoyed going to concerts and taking road trips, particularly to central New York and Cape Cod. Eileen will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
