George J. Abramson age 85 of East Bridgewater, died November 13, 2012. Cherished husband of Sonja M. (Karey) Abramson. Born in Boston to the late Charles and Sarah Abramson. Loving father to Christine and Angelo Colangelo of Swampscott, MA; Cheryl and Ted Mavrikos of Brookline, MA; Debra and Richard Cartwright of West Bridgewater, MA; Lori and Al La Croix of Randolph, MA; Daniel and Heidi Abramson of Bangkok, Thailand. Dear Brother of the late Harold Abramson and Beatrice (Press). He is survived by his grandchildren Valerie and Lino Bosch of Phoenix, AZ; Nicholas Colangelo of Boston, MA; Scott and Chrissy Carruthers of Franklin, MA; Rachael and Rob Miles of Lebanon, CT; Emily and Burt Garr of Medway, MA; Joseph Carruthers of Medway, MA and Great Grandfather of five.

He was owner of the Abramson Carpet Co. in Chestnut Hill and Westwood, served as director of the New England Carpet Association, Life member of the NRA, former Director of the Bass River Rod and Gun Club of Yarmouthport. He was a past member of the American Amateur Trap Association. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman during World War II and Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 91.

Visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St., Whitman on Friday 4-7:30 pm Followed by a Service in the Funeral Home at 7:30 pm.

Burial will be Saturday at 10:30 am at the Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to the Key Largo Baptist Church 835 Largo Road, Key Largo, FL 33037, his beloved church in which he was the oldest member to be baptized at the age of 80.
