Harold E. Hunt, Jr. “Kewp” 97 of Whitman died peacefully at home on March 8, 2012. Born and raised in Lynn, he was the son of the late Harold E. Hunt Sr. and Ivy (Kitchen) Hunt. Graduate of Lynn English H.S., and Northeastern University.

A long time Movie Projectionist and former owner of the Whitman Theater. Retired from the Raytheon Company as an Electrical Engineer.

Veteran of WW II he served as Captain in the U.S. Army, 30 th Division 113 th F.A. Bn. (Old Hickory). He was awarded 2 Bronze Stars and was a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge.

He was married to the late Beatrice A. (Duval) Hunt for 45 years and the late Mary Mack of Cohasset, also father of the late Harold E. Hunt, III.

He is survived by his two sons Peter Hunt of Whitman, David Hunt and his wife Maureen of West Bridgewater and daughter Susan (Hunt) Murphy and her husband Michael of Whitman, as well as 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

An avid tennis player until the age of 93. He was a caretaker to many and friend to all. A man among men, who would not hesitate to help another. Loved by all and he will never be forgotten by those who had the privilege to know him.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
