Honora Mccarthy

Honora Anne (Duffy) McCarthy of Whitman May 19, 2012, age 86 formerly of Dorchester (Neponset) and Abington. Beloved wife of the late Ralph J. McCarthy.  Daughter of the late Thomas and Anne (Baron) Duffy. Loving mother of Michael J. McCarthy and his wife Therese of Pembroke, NH, Cathleen Lukis and her husband Paul of Hingham, Joan Glass and her husband Howard of Holbrook, Paul McCarthy of Lowell, the late Annmarie Coyle of Abington, and the late Noreen Simon of Whitman. Sister of Charles T. Duffy of Quincy,  the late John T. Duffy of IL,  the late Katherine Giangrande of CT, the late Moria Evans of CA, and the late Thomas Duffy of Rockland. Also survived by 10 grandchildren.

Honora was a member of the Whitman Council of Aging, a Girl Scout leader, CCD Teacher, a member of the Headstart Program in Brockton for many years making dolls and stuffed animals for children that had none,  she volunteered doing taxes for AARP. She also loved to sew and travel.

Visiting hours will be in the MacKinnon Funeral Home 760 Washington St. (Off Rte. 18) Whitman on Tuesday May 22nd 2-4 and 6-8 PM.  Funeral Mass in Holy Ghost Church Wednesday May 23rd at 9 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Internment St. James Cemetery, Whitman.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Honora's memory to St. Vincent DePaul C/O Holy Ghost Parish 518 Washington St. Whitman, MA 02382 or The Salvation Army.
