Janet Saunders

June 14, 1942 — November 12, 2012

Janet R. Saunders, daughter of the late Regina and Leon Freeman, passed away peacefully in her home Nov. 12, 2012. She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Andrea Edwards; son-in-law, Gary Edwards; and grandson, Brian. She also leaves her brother, David Freeman; and sister-in-law, Sandra Freeman; and her many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the sister of the late Carol Byman of Hanson. Janet was born and raised in Brockton and graduated from Brockton High School in the Class of 1959. She graduated from Dean College in Franklin in 1961. She lived most of her life in and around Brockton, most recently in Hanson. Janet was a lifelong animal lover, voracious reader, and renowned (and formidable) Scrabble player. In addition to successful careers in human resources and real estate, she volunteered and worked for over 10 years at the Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Massachusetts (formerly the MSPCA) in Brockton. She joins her many adored animals at the Rainbow Bridge.

A memorial will take place privately at a later date. Donations in Janets memory can be sent to the Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Massachusetts (APCSM), 1300 West Elm St. Ext., Brockton, MA 02301.
