John C. Hayes of Marshfield passed away Friday October 22, 2010 at the Coyne Health Care Center in Rockland. He was 80. Beloved husband of 54 years to Harriette (Young) Hayes. Devoted father of Dennis and his wife Paula of Tampa, Fl., David and his wife Jacquelyn of Hanover, Cynthia Tranter of Wareham, Kimberly Simpson and her husband Jeffrey of Plymouth, Tammy Tranter and Husband David of Marshfield. Brother of Patricia Phillips of Rockland, and Jean Pratt of Calabash, NC. Grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many good friends. John was a retired Chief Machinist Mate serving 20 years in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired manager of display team at Grossman’s formerly in Braintree. He loved coin collecting, traveling and family genealogy.
