Judith Reid

June 8, 1941 — November 12, 2021

Pembroke

Judith A. (Tarr) Reid, 80, of Pembroke, formerly of Abington, passed away November 12, 2021, after a long period of declining health.  She was the daughter of the late Ruth A. (Hanson) and Charles A. Tarr.  Judy was a graduate of Abington High School Class of 1959 and of Becker Jr. College. She worked at the Abington National Bank and in the bookkeeping department of Dugmore and Duncan.

Judy was the former wife of the late Albert G. Reid whom she married in 1963, and they were the parents of four children who were Judy’s priority and pride and joy:  Charles and Leeanne Reid and William and Tammy Reid of Abington, Robert and Jeannie Reid of Halifax and Sandra and Alexander Adamopoulos of Pembroke with whom Judy resided. The family will be forever grateful to Sandy for the years of care she gave their mom. Judy was a proud grandmother of:  Amanda Reid Carreiro (Matthew), Alicia, Kimberly and Megan Reid all of Abington and Harley Adamopoulos of Pembroke.  She was the great grandmother of Austin and Owen Carreiro.  Judy also leaves behind a dear cousin, Barbara Chase of Whitman, a sister-in-law, Nancy Reid of Abington, as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was pre-deceased by her brother Charles Tarr, and sisters Louise Roy and Nancy Chase.

When living in Abington, Judy grew strawberries and always had great vegetable gardens.  She was also a caregiver first to her mother and later to her sister Louise. Judy loved to host family get-togethers especially at Christmas.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
