Richard Silva

August 19, 1953 — August 27, 2020

Richard J. “Rick” Silva, 67, a beloved father, brother, uncle and grandfather passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at his home in Pittsfield, MA, after a long illness.

Born in Framingham to the late A. Joseph and Florence (LaVoie) Silva, Rick leaves his loving fiancée, Leslie Noucas, of Pittsfield.

He is survived by his children, Laura Wyrsch and her husband Kevin of Northborough, and Jason Silva of Bellingham and his grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings, Mark Silva and his wife Leah of East Falmouth, Pamela Bliss of Medway and Betty Cahill of East Falmouth, as well as nieces and nephews. He will be truly missed by all.

Rick received his education at New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico and then at Framingham State University. He excelled in sports playing, high school football, basketball, and especially baseball which he played collegiately. He enjoyed coaching baseball for many years.

Rick took over the ownership of AJ Auto Body in Framingham after the death of his father.  He then turned his passion to carpentry becoming a Master Carpenter opening his own business, Rick’s Custom Carpentry retiring in 2016.  Rick was always there to lend a hand and could fix anything.

During his free time, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, hunting at his cottage in Maine, and his days on his boat, soaking up the sea air and fishing. Rick truly loved animals, especially golden retrievers.

A private memorial service is planned.

In lieu of flowers a memorial contributions in Ricks name can be sent to the American Heart Association.
