Richard “Rick” J. Packer of
Rockland
, formerly of Whitman died on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the
Spaulding
Rehabilitation
Center
in
Cambridge
. He was 50 years old. He was born in
Boston
; son of Elizabeth Packer (Hughes) of Whitman and the late Robert Packer. He was the loving husband of Michele M. Packer (King) of
Rockland
and the beloved father of Michael J. Darling, Brian C. Darling, Eric M. Darling, and Damon R. Packer all of Rockland. He was the devoted brother of Kathy Hendrix of
Plymouth
, Maureen Betters of Pembroke, Robert Packer of Whitman, and Thomas Packer of Whitman. He was the son in law of Leonard and Judith King of
Rockland
and brother in law of Leonard King Jr. of Whitman. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Rick was a well known bartender that worked at
Damien’s Pub in Hanson
for many years. He enjoyed camping, gardening, taking vacations, and all sports. He loved spending time with his family and friends and he was a wonderful family man.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, November 15
th
from 4-8 pm at the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St. Whitman.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday in Holy Ghost Church, Whitman at 9 am.
Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery,
Rockland
.
