Thomas Stewart

T homas J. Stewart of Whitman formerly of South Boston passed away Thursday April 7, 2011. Thomas was born in Boston and he was a former Union Iron Worker from Local 7.  Son of the late Frank and Lillian (McCormick) Stewart. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and known as “Tom Terrific”. He is survived by his beloved wife Beverly A. (Kearney) Stewart.  His ten children Beverly Whitney of Halifax, Peter Stewart of Carver, Paula Avery of Whitman, Tracy Cotter of Halifax, Annmarie Griffin, Mary Rose Walleston, Lillian Walleston all of Whitman, Elizabeth, Caitlin and Michele Stewart all of Carver. Tom is also one of nine his surviving brothers Frank Stewart of Duxbury, Michael Stewart of Boston and sisters Patricia Downing of Hull, and Mary Ann Kelly of S. Boston. Also survived by 20 grandchildren.

Visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St., Whitman on Monday Apr. 11 ^th 2-4 & 7-9 pm.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday in Holy Ghost Church in Whitman at 9 am. Relatives and friends invited to attend.

Interment at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Whitman.

There will be a gathering at 11am Tuesday following the burial at the VFW Post on Essex St. in Whitman.
