William Braica

September 16, 1942 — February 6, 2021

William (Sal) Braica (Sept. 16, 1942 – Feb. 6, 2021) of Agawam. Born in Springfield, he was a member of Army Reserves, owner of the Purple Onion Caterers, a restaurateur & avid antiquer. He was a hardworking man of humor, generosity, and loyalty.

He was predeceased by the love of his life, wife Eleanor (Ellie). Survived by best friend & loyal dog Mugsy, who is being lovingly cared for by Michael Gagner.

Predeceased by his parents, James Braica Sr and Mary Kirkpatrick. Family include Jean & Renzo Ceccarini, Agnes & Mike DeLucchi, Patricia & Roger Olewinski, Lewis Braica Sr & Joanne, James L Braica Jr & Iris, & many nieces & nephews including Tracy Viola (Stephen & Heather Viola & Nicholas Viola) Tiffany & Tony Converse (Gardner & Aaron Converse) Jenifer & Jon Rosenthal (Josephine & Sam Kanarek) & Melisa & Dan Walker (Louis & Harry Walker).

A huge thank you to Tracy Viola & her sons, that cared for him for years, their support for him was endless.

Thank you also to his long-time friend & neighbor Diane Nasiatka, and his visiting nurse Becky for their devotedness and compassion.

Funeral services will be private.
